Evergem: a multidisciplinary approach to chlorosolvents

On behalf of a Swedish multinational, a large-scale contamination with chlorosolvents in the groundwater was remediated by various techniques. In the source zone, chemical oxidation by ozone was performed to address the very high concentrations. In the plume, a carbon source was injected for anaerobic degradation. An aerobic protection screen was installed at the boundary for aerobic degradation of the residual products to prevent violation of the site boundary.
